IN THIS LESSON

Students will analyze how digital trends relate to media literacy and network science.

It aims to guide the students through the psychological triggers that drive human sharing behavior, the cultural evolution of memes, and the mechanics behind "super spreaders" and information cascades.

Through discussions, activities, and an algorithm prediction game, students are provided enough content to connect abstract scientific concepts to their everyday online experiences. By the end of the hour, students will be equipped to shift from being passive scrollers to thoughtful, analytical consumers of information who know more about how digital ecosystems operate.
